Meet Shari
I earned my PhD in Counseling from George Washington University (GWU) and my master’s in Mental Health Counseling from Hunter College. I completed my undergraduate education at James Madison University, majoring in psychology, and graduating Magna Cum Laude.
My lifelong interest in learning inspires me to continuously expand my knowledge and understanding of the therapeutic process, so I can be most helpful to my clients. Through my years of experience, I have found a psychoanalytic approach goes beyond symptom relief leading to more enduring change. I have received advanced clinical training from the Washington Baltimore Center for Psychoanalysis (WBCP), completing the Psychoanalytic Studies Program, and currently, I am a student in their Observational Studies Program.
Prior to entering private practice, I gained experience in community mental health settings and college counseling centers, and completed a Clinical Fellowship at the American University Counseling Center. I also serve as an adjunct faculty member at GW and teach graduate students in counseling.
