My style is interactive, and my theoretical orientation is psychoanalytic, which means I believe the past shapes our perceptions and behaviors. A psychoanalytic approach goes deeper than suggesting alternatives to thought patterns or behaviors by enhancing awareness of why we think, feel, and react in the ways we do. Together, we will make connections between your current and past experiences and use the therapy relationship to work through these experiences in the here and now. With greater self-understanding, clients are freer to make choices instead of reacting to the moment, which leads to healthier relationships and more engagement in life. I find it extremely rewarding to watch my clients grow and make lasting changes in their lives.

Getting Started

The first few sessions will be an initial consultation, so I can better understand your needs and to make sure that working together is a good fit. This allows you time to get to know my style and to make sure that you feel comfortable working with me. The quality of the relationship between therapist and client impacts the success of therapy, so it is important that you make a thoughtful choice when selecting a therapist.

Individual Therapy Services

Sessions are typically 50 minutes in length and scheduled weekly or twice weekly. I work to facilitate an environment of openness and curiosity to better understand your thoughts, emotions, and experiences. I enjoy working with individuals who are experiencing the following:
