Psychodynamic Psychotherapy
I believe the relationship is central to effective therapy and utilize a warm and empathic stance to foster the therapeutic relationship. My style is interactive and my theoretical orientation is psychodynamic, which means I believe the past shapes our perceptions and behaviors in the here and now. Together, we will gain insight into your patterns of thoughts, behaviors, and emotions, so you can discover new possibilities and live more meaningfully in the present. I find it extremely rewarding to watch my clients grow and make lasting changes in their lives.
Getting Started
The first few sessions will be an initial consultation, so I can better understand your needs and to make sure that working together is a good fit. This allows you time to get to know my style and to make sure that you feel comfortable working with me. The quality of the relationship between therapist and client impacts the success of therapy, so it is important that you make a thoughtful choice when selecting a therapist.
Individual Therapy Services
Sessions are typically 50 minutes in length and scheduled weekly or twice weekly. I work to facilitate an environment of openness and curiosity to better understand your thoughts, emotions, and experiences. I enjoy working with individuals who are experiencing the following:
